Discover our partnership with NEOMA BS to promote sustainable finance
Press releaseMay 24, 2020 Finance for Tomorrow and NEOMA Business School launch partnership for sustainable finance with first accredited program Finance for Tomorrow, a branch of the Paris EUROPLACE association, whose mission is to make green and sustainable finance a driving force in the development of Paris as a financial center, has become a partner of NEOMA Business School’s full time Specialized Masters in International Financial Analysis. This partnership will significantly strengthen the courses dedicated to green and sustainable finance within this curriculum, notably by consolidating the contributions of industry professionals. What’s more, it will strengthen the provision of content to offer students real-life fields of investigation and the supervision of professional theses. NEOMA’s program thus becomes the first to be accredited by Finance for Tomorrow.
Making our students the players and future decision-makers of tomorrow’s sustainable finance
Finance for Tomorrow brings together private, public and institutional players wishing to make a commitment to green and sustainable finance, combining long-term performance with respect for environmental and social criteria. By becoming a partner of the Mastère Spécialisé Analyse Financière Internationale, the association will make its expertise in green and sustainable finance available to students. ‘ Our students are the actors and future decision-makers of a finance that serves the real economy, our society and our planet. That’ s why we’re delighted to be able to count Finance for Tomorrow as a partner in our curriculum ‘, explains Catherine Karyotis, Head of NEOMA Business School’s full-time Specialized Master in International Financial Analysis. This new partnership, which takes effect from the start of the 2020 academic year, is fully in line with the activities of Finance for Tomorrow, which is committed to mobilizing the financial ecosystem to redirect financial flows towards a low-carbon and inclusive economy. ‘ Today, we are bringing together professionals who are mobilized around these issues and eager to see finance transformed, and today’s students are tomorrow’s professionals,’ adds Anne-Claire Roux, Managing Director of Finance for Tomorrow. ‘ It is our responsibility not only to make them aware of these issues, but also to provide them with the keys to understanding and the tools to enable them to become tomorrow’s players in this new finance ‘. The partnership between Finance for Tomorrow and NEOMA Business School makes even more sense in a context of health crisis, where finance must more than ever be at the service of the economy and the planet. ‘ The efforts in favor of finance expected in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis are still insufficient to transform the economy and align it with sustainable development goals. As we emerge from the unprecedented health crisis we are currently experiencing, it is vital that we continue to build on this momentum,’ emphasizes Catherine Karyotis.
A wide range of synergies within the Specialized Masters in International Financial Analysis
As part of this partnership, members of Finance for Tomorrow will regularly contribute to the teaching content of the program. ‘ Our experts will lead courses covering all aspects of sustainable finance, to reinforce knowledge of environmental, social and governance issues, and integrate them into the core competencies of future graduates ‘, adds Finance for Tomorrow. The partnership will also provide an opportunity for experts from the Paris financial center to become involved in the investigative work carried out by students during their studies, particularly as part of their professional thesis. In this way, they will participate in the supervision of certain theses in the form of professional supervision in collaboration with a professor, while providing students interested in sustainable finance topics with information and contacts to help them understand and master these issues.
Finance for Tomorrow’s first accredited curriculum
This new partnership, which focuses on the societal benefits of finance and its ethics, makes NEOMA’s Mastère Spécialisé Analyse Financière Internationale full-time the first master’s degree course to be accredited by Finance for Tomorrow. The collaboration between the two players is fully in line with the positioning of the program, which has always placed the alternation between academic content and professional input at the very heart of its DNA. Dedicated to financial analysis for valuation and asset management, the program has been helping students for 15 years to develop the key skills needed to become tomorrow’s decision-makers and financiers, endowed with a true sense of ethics and capable of managing in an environment that has become unstable and complex.
