Publication of the sustainable finance roadmap for France
To mark Responsible Finance Week, Finance for Tomorrow has produced, in partnership with the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) and the Forum for Responsible Investment (FIR), a new roadmap for public decision-makers aimed at promoting sustainable finance in France.
Following on from the first roadmap published in 2018, this document takes stock of French progress and identifies, on the basis of some 20 interviews with investors, public authority representatives and other stakeholders in the Paris marketplace, 19 recommendations to be pursued during the new five-year period. These recommendations are organized around five main themes:
- Clarify and deepen investors’ fiduciary responsibility
- Promote the analysis and measurement of the impact of investment activities
- Facilitate and encourage shareholder engagement on ESG issues
- Improve investor information and mobilize French savings
- Strengthen French financial market leadership in terms of alignment with the Paris Agreement
